Moving into Host Family (Day 4)

For breakfast this morning I had "tamago gohan" or egg rice.  Egg rice is raw eggs on rice.  It is very good.  It can only be made from special eggs because regular eggs have a chance of containing salmonella.  After this Yoshihiko (head of family) and Tsubasa came to see me off to my first host family. My first host family is very nice. They live in a traditional house. I live with a host mother, father, 2 brothers, grandfather, and grandfather. The sister went off to college in Kyoto this afternoon.  The younger host brother was out fishing all day, and the older one had work to finish up.  I helped the older one do some work and played shogi with the dad.  He was very good, and beat me after I made a bad mistake in the middle.  Dinner was"maki-sushi" (rolled sushi) for dinner.  It is where you make your own sushi with the ingredients on the table.  It was very good.  I prepared for school the next day at night by gathering all the things I need for tomorrow when I start the first day of school.  I am very excited for a big day tomorrow.
