Itoga Matsuri (Day 70)

Since today was my last full day at school we had an "owakare kai" (good bye party).  Some of my classmates went to okuwa during lunch to get snacks, and we had the owakare kai during our 6th period.  It is strange to feel that starting in the fall I will not be going to Minoshima high school and that I would be back in the US.  Even though we had an good bye party I still have tomorrow and next week to spend at school.  After school I had table tennis club.  I played pretty well today.  Then I went to the Itoga Matsuri (festival) with my host dad because Ritsuki was there with his friend.  The Itoga festival is a festival that is held at Inari Jinjya, which is the oldest jinjya (shrine) in Japan.  It is a small matsuri, but it is my favorite matsuri.  Since it is the local matsuri I know most of the people there, and it is a good place to socialize with many people.  Some of my friends were performing on the taiko drums.  I saw kantoku, Fumiya, Moe, and many others.  My former host grandfather was manning the ticket booth and I saw Haru, my former host brother.  For dinner we had hamburg which is like a hamburger, but different.
